En el territorio de las altas montañas colombianas la diversidad en aves es impresionante. Las especies que habitan nuestro territorio de alta montaña son mas de 350, moviendose entre las zonas boscosas de reserva donde encuentran alimento y refugio. La presencia de Palma de Cera en algunos bosques permite el avistamiento de loras, cotorras y tucanes de alta montaña, mientras las semillas de árboles como el Sietecueros atraen gran cantidad de tangarás, atrapamoscas, abanicos y semilleros. Las grandes águilas y pequeños halcones vigilan desde el cielo, mientras los tororoi corren presurosos por el suelo del bosque.
